Va Tech has fallen some in the last few years. This is still a good game but not as attractive as some of the other openers we have had.

Give up the points and take Bama. HTH

Not a real surprise since VT has slipped as Beamer has gotten older (66 when season starts and turns 67 in October). I think we destroy them and beat them by 30 or more unless Saban really dials it down.

I see this the fun in this, but at my first seeing the post, I thought wow how can they tell that this early? I am glad however we are the #2 team in country. No injuries or whatever these spreads will change. lol, RTR!

They may cover, but I think it is too high for a season opener against what is usually a quality team.

Defense generally ahead of the offense early. But everyone just watched the starters score first in 5 plays and 1.5 minutes (guessing). But ya'll get the point. Petal to the metal, even against the best "D" in the country, our "O" scored like the "D" was not on the field. RTR

Look i'm as high on Bama as the next guy, but everyone thinking this D is the greatest thing since slice bread needs to take a step back.

Best thing returning is Cj and HA Ha. Blue is much improved but still have weaknesses at the DB's.

Who replaces Jesse Williams? i mean i think Bama will be fine, but this is getting the 2010 feel to me where people just thought Bama would roll over eveyone after winning in the Rose bowl the year before.

The O will be very good, (still some question on OL but it will be fine). Wr's the deepest i think i have ever seen at Bama, RB's are good Yeldon maybe the best we have ever seen at making people miss, and Drake is just Fast, then comes Henery and Fowler. plus the ones we havent seen yet.

So my thoughts are this. It make take the D some time to settle in. But they dont have a lot of time.

Va Tech is pretty good, and Thomas is a BIG QB that might be improved, then Bama goes to Jhonny footballs house....

lets prove it on the field!

On AJ's late TD drive during A-Day, it looked like No. 3 missed cover and let the receiver get behind him deep.  Sunseri has played enough to know better than that.  So while there were several interceptions, I agree that the secondary still needs work.

:huge eye roll: to anyone that does not think a CNS defense will be ready for Va Tech.  Matter of how much stuff they have to take out of the bag, showing Texas A&M what to prepare for. I predict a very base, no frills approach in game 1.

I can see it now, run the middle off tackle to keep them honest. Pass with short stuff to in the middle. I believe it will be a fast game just by running the ball so much. RTR!

I'm thinking something similar, like 38-10, 38-16, etc.

Finebaum may be on to something.  I can easily see the lead stretching that high before halftime.
