I was listening to ESPN Radio and they were talking to Al Lesar, sportswriter for the South Bend Tribune. He's the Cecil Hurt of Notre Dame football/sports.
He was talking about different ND issues. He mentioned that QB Golston left school because of what Notre Dame called "academic misbehavior." Don't we call that cheating down South? Plus, he mentioned that he and other reporters were having a discussion with ND coach Kelly and the ND/Alabama game came up in conversation.
Coach Kelly stated that after reviewing the game film he said his team had not played that bad after all. Lesar said he laughed and asked Coach Kelly if he was serious and the coach said yes. Lesar then said that Eddie lacy could have rushed for 350 yards and Bama score 65 points if Saban had not shut it down in the 2nd half. The reporter was incredulous that the ND coach could made such a ludicrous statement.
Isn't that like saying Hurricane Katrina really didn't do THAT much damage?
