@CecilHurt: Per WTOK-TV in Meridian, Alabama basketball player Devonta Pollard has been charged in the kidnapping for which his mother was arrested.

@CecilHurt: Kemper Co. (Miss.) sheriff James Moore confirms that Devonta Pollard faces a change of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Rivals ranked him #22 overall before Bama recruited him. That is about as good as we can expect, but the guy would not necessarily have to be a bloomin' idiot to become obtainable. Hopefully there will be an "out" of some sorts to minimize his amount of guilt in this idiotic story.

I was afraid something like this would happen, after his momma was indicted by the Feds for kidnapping. Now, he has the Feds on him so he is toast. I wonder if they are squeezing him to try and squeal on his mother. That's the usual scenario.

I've seen and heard some strange things in my many years, but this fiasco has to rank right at the top. How many people does it take to kidnap one child? I think they might have half of Kemper County involved with this mess.

If Devonta knowingly contributed to this mess in any way, he is one dumb dude.  Huh?

The more I hear about this kidnapping conspiracy the stranger it gets. I keep waiting to hear why the innocent child was kidnapped and if Pollard's Mother thought the child was in danger or something like that. The FBI have been on this case for about a month and they are making more arrests so you have to think they have some strong evidence.

Why was the child left on the side of the road in rural Mississippi?

Momma Pollard and the mother of the child were cousins with a running dispute over something. My guess it's money. The child was abandoned because Momma Pollard got spooked when someone (FBI) called her back on her cell phone since she had called the child's mother on her cell phone and caller ID identified her number. This is a strange, sad, & twisting tale of stupidity, anger, & an outrageous crime. The final chapter will be some folks going to the Federal Penitentiary for a long time.
