I'm still shocked at this news.  As I told pmull, I was really just looking into this so that I could report back to everyone who was concerned about him.  I honestly figured he was just taking a little break offline like the last time.

I won't post his obituary here publicly out of respect for his family's privacy.  If you knew him personally, send me his real name in a private message and I will send you back the link to the obituary.

 Sad

I've had a very bad feeling lately that this may have happened.  On June 4, he sent me a very encouraging and heartfelt private message in which he told me that he had been dealing with a very severe illness of his own.  Out of respect for his privacy, I was reluctant to relay the details of his health on here when he stopped posting and everyone was wondering where he was...but, from what he had told me I felt that he believed that his time was near.  I know that he ruffled a lot of feathers on CRS at times, including mine, but I know that he really had a kind and compassionate heart and that he really did care for his fellow man.

I pray that he is at peace now and I'm thankful that I got to know him a little better in the last couple of months...and I'm thankful that my friend WV is no longer suffering as he was in his last days.  Your family is in my prayers WV and from my heart one last time I salute you...

I know this isn't very eloquent language, but this just sucks.  I really liked that stubborn old mule.  I found his posts entertaining, and he often brought a smile to my face or a chuckle to my belly.  He seemed like he lived a full and interesting life.  I know his family will miss him dearly.  RIP, WV.

WV did have a way with himself sometimes as we all do, but I hope he is at peace with himself. I guess my last messages with him was about Mousse Gueye, WV sure was glad to see him leave Bama. RIP WV and Roll Tide!!. Pray

Well said HL. I liked that stubborn old mule too. He was, by far, my favorite poster.

Oh man, I cannot believe what I am reading. I am in total shock this morning. WV and I had our moments on here, but he was a great poster who made me think on many occasions. I am totally depressed that I will not get to see him on here any more. God Bless you WV. I know that you are now in a much better pacle, and there is no more pain for you. Blessings on his family during this time.  Sad Pray
