The maturation of Johnny Football continues to be a labor-intensive process.

I think Johnny Football is in for an epic sophomore slump.

Yeah and  it starts in the Alabama game. I expect a major thumping from the Tide.

Frankly, I hope he goes out and gets bombed the night before the Bama- aTm game.  If he keeps this up, he may not make it through the season without being suspended.  Bear suspended Namath.  We'll see if Sumlin is up to that.

I would be really surprised if Coach Sumlin would sit Manziel. He is to important for them to win games if you ask him. RTR!

Yeah, I think there is a little self-importance with this kid. When he doesn't have that all-pro offensive line in front of him this year, we'll find out what he is really made of.

Manzeil is out of control with himself, something similar to Henderson at Ole Miss. They both think they are bigger than the system. Severe discipline would do each of them a world of good and if something doesn't change, I think they will have some sad memories of their sports careers.

He may get suspended if he doesn't watch it.  He was suspended last summer and there was serious doubt if he would be on the team when fall camp started.

You could be right on the suspension but I'm like some of the other posters, TAM  doesn't want to lose and are riding high these days, who would be brave enough to discipline him. This is where I think the problem lies, he feels he has them obligated to keep him on the team if they are to be successful, which is probably right.

If that is the case Sumlin is not the coach I think he is. If team rules don't apply to Manziel and possibly other star players Sumlin will lose the respect of the players. I wonder if Manziel still has the respect of the players after the off seaon he has had.

I just read where A&M is claiming Manziel left the Manning camp due to severe dehydration. I call BS. He did not show up until the afternoon and never let any one know he was not feeling well. The most dehydrated I have ever been is after a hard night of drinking and partying.

I had read this earlier and this is what I based my opinion on. He was seen partying in both places, Louisiana and Texas. It reminds me of the Scam Newton case, the Barn didn't care if they got caught as long as they won a National Championship and I think this might be the mindset at TAM, win the NC and worry about the repercussions from the players later.

Exactly. The kid apparently can't hold his liquor, and subsequently got hung over, resulting in missed meetings = Archie lettin him go. (Good call Sir)
