It's possible (some will say improbable) that Manziel has known about this investigation for months, and THAT's why he's been such an outlaw all winter.

You could read his father's statement in a whole new light now (after knowing this).

Exactly. Maybe that's why he had such a don't give a rip attitude and his father supported all of his antics.

A&M and Coach Sumlin brought him to SEC Media Days. If they thought something big was happening Johnny Football would not have made the trip. It would have been easy to bring three seniors and say he did not come because he is only a sophomore.

The most disturbing thing about this whole situation with Manziel is the conduct of Coach Sumlin. He has said zero and done zero. He strictly wants to win and get a pro job and to  h**l with everyone else. I have no respect for him.

This whole NCAA investigation blew up during June.
It was middle June when JFF posted, "I can’t wait to leave college station".

I think Sumlin knew about it and it's consequences at Media Days but didn't want to be the big story there if he didn't bring Manziel.

Well, if you recall, that was right after he left (or was booted) from the Manning Camp.  He had to answer all of that anyhow.

But if he had not brought Manziel, HTW, he would have done a lot more answering.

True, but everyone would have thought it was because of him leaving Camp.  Nobody would have suspected anything else.

What a mess.  Bet Sumlin wishes he'd left for the NFL.

Sumlin has his hands full with or without Manziel. He has let one player become bigger than the team. That is a formula for disaster.

This whole thing is just stupid.  Would someone please tell me how JM getting paid for his autograph gives him an athletic advantage?

No athletic advantage.
But also, 'NO AMATEUR STATUS'.
