And we are underway here in Antwerp - the Crimson Tide vs. the Antwerp Giants II

That's the end of the 1st quarter with Antwerp leading #Alabama, 16-14. Randolph leading the Tide with 5 pts, Jacobs has 3 rebs and 3 blks.

Back-to-back dunks by Obasohan and Randolph stretches the #Alabama lead to 6, 24-18, with 6:33 left in the half.

Levi Randolph leads all scorers with 11 first-half points. Jacobs hasn't scored a point, but leads UA in rebounds (7) and blocks (3).

It appears CAG is just playing with the lineups to look at certain packages or whatever. Third different starting lineup in three games. No surprise Obasohan has started the two games in his home town.

We are through three quarters with #Alabama holding onto a 59-47 lead. Levi Randolph has 19 pts to lead the way.

#Alabama has stretched its lead to 14 pts, 63-49, with 6:36 left. Jacobs has a team-high 11 rebounds and three blocks, along with 6 points.

#Alabama has opened up a 17-point lead, 73-56, with just under three minutes left. Randolph (22) and Cooper (11) both in double figures.

I know exhibition games are mostly meaningless, but I hope the play of Randolph, especially the scoring, is a sign of things to come.

Here are some final numbers: Levi Randolph led the team in scoring with 22 points, Retin Obasohan had 12 and Rodney Cooper finished with 11

Nick Jacobs had 6 pts, along with a team-high 11 rebs and 3 blocks. Algie Key also had a solid game with 8 pts, 6 asts, 4 rebs and 4 stls.

I know exhibition games are mostly meaningless, but I hope the play of Randolph, especially the scoring, is a sign of things to come.



 

IMO this is just practice games. You get tired of scrimmaging against yourself everyday. I bet those scrimmages back in Tuscaloosa with some of the former players was pretty good work for the team too.

I am glad to see the team bonding and enjoying the trip. Team chemistry should be good this year. It will help to get the bonus practice time, especially the new guys.

Just from the video clips and blog notes I think we are playing against very average teams. Typical sharp shooting international players that are not as tall or physical as we will see against the better teams on our schedule.
