Doh!  Kentucky/Western Kentucky was already in the list.  I guess we will go with Arky.
Arky works.  Who knows what they'll have this year!

I direct this message to my fellow posters. Would it be more interesting if we all made, say, 3 recommendations (with reasoning for picks) for the pick'em each week, instead of making a list of 10 choices by one or two posters? Then, SC could make the final decision. If this does not work for SC due to his work schedule or puts more work on him, then we could stick to how we do the games now. Just wondering if this idea is too cumbersome or just a bad idea. I appreciate you guys input. SUPERCOACH, if this does not work for you, that's fine with me. Not trying to stir anything up, just trying to make the discussion more involved and interesting.

 Kiss
In past years, it was hard to get timely input, so I usually listed the main games and people commented.  But it's not a monopoly -- the more input the better.  If you want to be the one coming up with a list, or have a game or three you want to include, go for it.  I usually just go to ESPN and pick out the televised games, so I don't care if they get picked or not -- just trying to make the selection process easier.  I do like the idea of several people coming up with suggestions; if it happens, great.

My post is not directed at anyone. In the past, I would submit a list of 10 games but I got to thinking that maybe we could draw more people into the conversation if folks could make 3 or 4 recommendations.  You're right about being timely with the suggestions and it might not work because of that. Just trying to draw in more posters & comments. Plus, I really do not want SUPERCOACH to feel hard-pressed if this is too cumbersome for him. I have a very thick hide and am interested in what our fellow posters think. IF SC or others think it's a stupid idea, I won't go into a corner and start weeping, but I might look for a tall building.

Coach B gets a rude awakening into SEC play come September 28 through the month of October.  Four weeks in a row:  Texas AM, Florida, USCe, then Bama.  I don't think they get their first SEC win until November.

I think it is easier for SC if we create a 10-team list and come to a consensus before he has to post the games.

You just jogged my memory. I think SUPERCOACH said something like that last year or the year before that. He's getting older & slower so I guess I will leave him alone.

Funny, but I've lost so often and for so many years that I expect it now.
I'm just wondering which teams will be this year's surprise failures!

Some games we did not pick from which could result in a surprise are:

#11 FSU/Pitt

#22 Northwestern/California

BYU/Virginia

I'm picking Pitt to beat FSU in a huge upset. Just a huge hunch.

Not so fast my friend!

Pittsburgh might be without its top two tailbacks when it opens ACC play Monday night against Florida State.

Junior starter Isaac Bennett (5-feet-11, 205 pounds) suffered a knee injury at the end of the first week of fall camp and has had no contact since. Bennett, who was the third-teamer last season, has rushed for 378 yards and five TDs in the past two seasons.

True freshman James Conner (6-2, 230) was set to be the backup, but he suffered a shoulder injury late last week; coaches are hopeful he can practice this week.
