Former Alabama defensive lineman Jesse Williams won't make his official NFL debut in 2013.

Williams was placed today on the Seattle Seahawks' injured reserve because of a knee injury, according to the Seattle Times. Players placed on injured reserve are locked into those spots for the entire season.

Man I hate to see this happen, I was really looking forward to watching how he stacked up against the big boys. I hope his surgery goes well and he'll come back next year able to play at 100%. Sad

Wow! What a blow. I know Jesse's got to be very disappointed. Kuiyam, too. I was like you, J, I was really looking forward to see him play. All the reports coming out of Seattle on him were good. Godspeed to you, Jesse.

Too bad. Would have been great to see him this year. Wonder if this is carry over from last year?

I don't care what the Notre Dame people say, we were the best team that year (1966).

The article wasn't specific enough, but could be.

I hate hearing this so much. Remember, he has had knee problems before so this is not a good harbinger of things to come.

He only needed a scope last year, so this doesn't sound like it is the same injury unless the surgery didn't properly correct it.

I'm not sure either but I kind of feel that it was the knee he hurt last year. There hasn't been any news of him hurting a knee since leaving Bama.

The scope was for a small meniscus tear that he had been living with for quite some time, I believe. I'm guessing he either aggravated it, if it wasn't fixed properly, or he had an injury that wasn't publicized.

In 2009 # 54 was Glenn Harbin. in 2009 we occassionally put Chapman and Cody in at the same time. Jesse was a two year player in 2011 & 2012.

didn't mean to inply #54 was in the texas game , but
Cody was in Phil's video run blocking on a TD and
it made me think of Jesse last year in the SECCG
I thought we had lost him just a few plays before
