TUSCALOOSA - On Military Appreciation Day at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, Adam Morgan came through like a warrior for the Alabama baseball team.
The junior left-hander pitched a eight shutout innings Saturday as the Crimson Tide defeated LSU 4-0 to even a key three-game series at one victory each.
The series concludes with a 1:05 p.m. game Sunday.
The Tide bounced back from a 10-6 loss Friday night. With every loss, it has been barely staying in contention for a berth in the eight-team SEC tournament.
With every victory, Alabama (29-20, 11-12 in the Southeastern Conference) stays close to the SEC Western Division lead. It pulled one game behind first-place Arkansas, which played host to Florida on Saturday night.
Morgan (5-4) delivered a sterling performance, holding LSU to eight hits before he was pulled in the ninth inning after the first two LSU batters reached base on a walk and a single.
