I forgot about those computer ratings.  Here I was thinking we would cruise right in if we win out, but we may not be in the top 2 of the BCS with all of those other media darling undefeated teams out there.

Case in point:  Notre Dame had no business whatsoever being in that game last year.  I can imagine an undefeated Clemson/Ohio State/Oregon (pick 2) game with us being left out.  "Missing rings" do happen you know.

ND played a very good schedule last year. They beat Mich St, Michigan, Miami FL, Stanford, BYU, Oklahoma & USCw along with cupcakes Navy, Purdue, Pitt, Boston College & Wake Forest.

I don't remember but that might have been the toughest schedule in the country. I think they earned their shot at us.

I will say because of the load on most SEC teams schedule especially ours if we win out how can they even think to leave us out. No way. It takes a very special team to go undefeated through the SEC. Just think we won 2 NCG's with 1 loss. They put us in then and we have no losses no way we lose out. Now, I agree with others that if we lose 1 game we are done. lol, the Media would have nothing else on their show but our loss. Especially College Gameday with Chris Fowler who hates us and Corso and Herbie or the TV program on ESPN2 everyday. They would have Robert Smith foaming at the mouth to say Alabama got beat. RTR!

Your inclusion of USCw in the "good" list triggers my sarcasm detector.  Laughing

They probably did have the best strength of schedule... according to the computers.

Only 4 of those powerhouses were ranked when they played.  The highest one was #8 Oklahoma, the same Oklahoma that was stomped 41-13 by aTm.  Next up was #10 Michigan State, who finished the regular season 6-6.  Then we have #17 Stanford, an OT win against the only "real" team they played.  Finally we have #18 Michigan, the team we clobbered 41-14 to open the season.  Michigan finished 8-5 and ND whipped them 13-6.  And they were almost beat by some of those cupcakes.

Let's not forget that one of these computers had Auburn as #1 the other day, even though they promise to get it right by the time it counts.

ND schedule was tough enough to deserve the butt whoopin we gave them IMO.

USCw won 7 games and went to a bowl plus they are a national name so I put them on the good column.

Ohio State and Louisville are the ones that have to worry about going unbeated and SOS hurting them.

I'm mostly concerned about Clemson and Oregon.  Oregon is nipping on our heels in the polls and could pass us at some point while we keep coasting by the cupcakes on our schedule.  Clemson still has FSU and South Carolina, and they already beat UGA.  If both of them finish undefeated they could get ahead of us in the BCS, depending on what the computers look like.

We discuss this every year starting in October. If we go unbeaten we will be in the Championship Game. If we lose one we will need a little help.

Yes, but this is the first year I am a little concerned about it.  Our schedule this year is pretty weak compared to prior years.

Add in the SECCG, and our schedule is tougher than Clemson or Oregon.

Oregon has only played cupcakes so far this year.  Washington on Saturday is the first credible team they play.

We should be fine if we win out, but no margin for error this year.

It's important to note the computer rankings didn't favor an undefeated Alabama team a year ago at this time. The Tide was No. 5 in early October of 2012, but eventually won the national title even after losing to Texas A&M in November.

CBSSports.com projects Alabama will be the No. 1 team in the first BCS ratings as well.

I too felt that the SECCG would be another big positive for use (should we win it, of course) but USCe. UF, and UGA are all looking dubious and it is possible that the SEC-E rep might have 2 losses. UGA and UF are banged up, and USCe is having Clowney drama.
