There might not have been a more important example of this [good tackling] than Jarrick Williams' tackle of Landry on LSU's first drive of the second half. Landry caught a 5-yard pass on third-and-7 and had a first down in his sights, but Williams quickly threw him to the ground and forced LSU to kick a field goal. LSU never again found itself in a position to take the lead.
This sort of performance bodes well as Alabama looks ahead to its regular season finale with Auburn, which ranks first in the SEC and third in the nation in rushing offense. Every yard counts, and the Crimson Tide has been as good as any team at preventing the ones that come after the first brush with contact.
Good discussion of McCarron's pacle in Alabama lore, OJ Howard "with NFL-type talent", and much more!
