The stadium swayed a little. Perhaps it was more of a shake.

Either way, it created a moment and a first an Alabama football veteran like Gold will never forget. The TV timeout following a fourth-quarter defensive stop paired with the country music classic "Dixieland Delight" and 101,000-plus excited fans may have moved the earth a little.

"It was very clear to me because it was almost in beat with the refrains of 'Dixieland Delight,'" Gold said by phone Monday. "It was almost like the crowd was keeping the beat, like they were playing the drum beat. I knew instantly what it was and it was just something."
