Analyst Mike Farrell, who has been close to Da'Shawn Hand's camp throughout the entire process, ... offered up a tweet that suggests something might be shifting.

"Honestly if Hand picked #Alabama tomorrow I wouldn't be stunned," Farrell tweeted. "This is very close according to a great source."

 

Unfortunately:  "As far as other Hand predictions are concerned, 247sports.com -- a recruiting service who publishes "predictions" in the form of its "crystal ball" still has the Wolverines as a heavy favorite for Hand's services.

As of Wednesday morning, Michigan was at a whopping 88 percent. Alabama was at 11 percent and Florida was at 1 percent. Eighty 247sports.com analysts have made predictions."

Somehow I get the feeling that he may not like the competition he would have to play through to get playing time at Bama. He reminds me of J. Clowney when Clowney was making his decision on where to play and I still say that Clowney made a bad decision by not coming to Bama.

A friend and I were talking about Clowney this week.  He's an LSU fan (so he wanted to talk anything except their loss).  We both agreed that Clowney's stock has dropped.  Many people predicted that going to USCe would hurt his NFL draft status.  Until this year it looked like he'd be okay.  But no longer.

Now looks like he MIGHT be the first defensive player taken, but he is projected behind 3 QBs (Mariota, Bridgewater, AND Mettenberger!).

His conditioning seems to be terrible, I just don't see him doing well in the combines and that is where he will be rated.

I think the official story, at least from one of my business partners who is a USCe alumnus and from the same hometown as Clowney, is that Mama wanted him close to home. He said if it was up to just Jadeveon, he probably would have attended Bama.

I've not gotten this at all.  He's been very interested in academics and the program he plans to enroll in at each school.  He likes Michigan's Sports Management program a lot.  I don't recall Clowney being too conerned about the academic side of things.

Just heard another discussion of Da'Shawn on Sirius radio this morning (Bill King Show).  They said, "It will be a surprise if he announces to anywhere but Michigan."

Sounds like best we can hope is that he delays the announcement or likes SHOCK. 

But the discussion centered around him being a thoughtful and careful kid who doesn't make snap    decisions; thus, they don't expect him to suddenly change his mind.
