Will Kiffin be a positive or negative for recruiting?

I think the hire will generate additional interest in recruiting for us. Hopefully, picking up a few players that might have been on the fence.

Of course, we know the problems he had with his players at USC AFTER he recruited. That being said, no doubt CNS will have him on a short leash so don't anticipate that problem reoccurring here.

I think the problem with Kiffin, much like Shula, was not his football mind but his ability to command the program and discipline.  At Bama he won't have to concern himself with that, just implement a gameplan.  He's stepping into an offense that's arguably as talented as anything he had USC. 

I think he'll recruit well.  We'll see what happens on the field.

Despite what he says about not paying attention to what is said in the media, CNS seems to be very good at keeping Alabama's name in the media when it matters most.  He helped provide the analysis for the BCSNCG, so that, even though we didn't play in it, the Alabama presence was there at the game.  Now, he's made a head-turning hire (whether good or bad in anyone's opinion) with less than a month to go until NSD.  If nothing else, I would think just having the Alabama brand image out there so much at a time when the college football season is winding down/over is a great way to market the program to recruits.

He'll recruit fine. Many of the issues players supposedly had with him he won't control at Alabama (and Orgeron won't be there to be the nice guy).

The only thing I wonder about is what some of the recruits are thinking, currently, about Kiffin, since his rep has been damaged. Hopefully, that won't be a liability.

We only have a few guys left. We have a qb already enrolled so from that stand point not much is need from Kiffin this year. Next year will be the key.
