The opportunity to compete excited Del Rio after the Sugar Bowl.

"We're all different," he said. "I think I can execute the offense well. Obviously I have a lot to improve on, but really this offseason is going to be big for all of us. We're going to let the best man win."

Del Rio earned a spot on the traveling squad as the fourth quarterback behind Morris and McCarron liked what he saw from the young player. He likes Del Rio's intelligence and ability to throw "a really good ball." ...

I think a lot of it depends on what type of quarterback will be needed to run the offense this year. If Bama changes to the fast tempo/read option style of offense it may hurt the chances for some of them.

It will be very interesting though to see who wins out.

The good news is that there's no shortage of options.  With so many guys that could potentially start at other schools they'll all be working hard to prove themselves.  Saban and Kiffin should be able to find someone who can do what they want him to do. 

With an experienced O-line and the RBs this team has hopefully the new QB will be able to grow into the role as AJ did in 2011.  Early in the season he didn't cost the team any games, in the BCSCG he was the star.
