I think Vinnie would be wise to come back for his senior season. He may regret it for the rest of his life if he enters the draft and it does not work out for him.

I think everyone knows he is not the most talented guy on the field. He makes up for it with football smarts, heart and desire. That works well for him in college but the NFL is a whole different game played by tremendous athletes.

There's still been no official announcement about the NFL, however. The deadline to declare was Wednesday, but juniors have three days to rescind and retain their college eligibility. Vinnie Sunseri is still deciding if he should do that, his mother said. He reportedly met with Alabama coach Nick Saban earlier this week and opted to leave for the draft.

If I'm reading this correctly, he met with Saban and then declared for the draft and is currently trying to decide if he wants to rescind the declaration or not. If that's the case, I hope he rescinds. Of course, I'm being selfish.

Good summation. He may be considering other options like a job in business, a high school coaching position, maybe a graduate assistant job somewhere. He has a lot of options.

Well all I can say is: Vinnie, if you're reading this, this Bama alum hopes you decide to play another year.

This seems like the sensible way for Vinnie to handle this. I don't know enough about Vinnie personally to say that he isn't good enough or he is good enough to play at the next level. I do think though that he is one of the best special teams players that I have seen at the college level. I do consider him as being like another coach on the field when he is playing in a game. I also think that he got off to a heck of a start this season before his injury. I wish he could have finished the season to see if he had improved as much as the games he had played in indicated and what kind of numbers he would have posted.

It is good that the NCAA has a three day rescinding period that permits a player to commit to go professional but can still decommit from that decision after letting his decision sink in a bit. Sometimes people make a rash or quick decision on a issue and a day later they wish they could change their mind.

Vinnie has used this three day period the way he should have if he wasn't sure that he wanted to leave Bama. He can now sit and talk with family, coaches, and friends and should have a firm feeling of which is the right way to go with his decision.

I too am a bit selfish and hope that he doesn't leave Bama, I've got my fingers crossed.

Yep! Let's hope for a little buyers remorse.
