It was crazy out there!!! First few snaps on the boat went form 23-25 lbs. Threw back some big ones so we could keep bigger ones. We had one flat line bait on top of the water and three different snaps were caught on it. After we limited out on R.S. the Capt said we'd run over to some hard bottom to catch some Mingo snapper there. No wrecks or structure there, so there wouldn't be any Red Snapper to throw back. Dropped down some multi-hook rigs with smaller hooks and cut bait....still caught Red snapper. Went to a Grouper hole, dropped down very large frisky live baits, still caught Red snapper. Total count: 16 R.S. one King Mackerel, Several Mingo and White Snapper, One big Red Grouper, and two Scamp. Just over 300 lbs of fish.

Yes, I have some going on the grill tonight, along with some asparagus, and some squash.
Maybe grill some peaches too...I dunno yet... Snappr is good fried, grilled, baked broiled, steamed...

Firm flaky white meat. No "fishy" taste. It freezes well too.

Thanks all!!! Heck of a trip!

Ricky, there were 7 us dividing the fish. Some of the fish was ate at the camp. And the rest was divided up between all 7 of us. I grilled up some, and froze the rest. Some fish freezes well, some not so much. Red Snapper freezes well. I've got about 3, one gallon bags full up, in the freezer. I'll take one bag into the fire station one night, and cook up the other bags for the family / friends. We probably threw bag at least twice what is on the dock. We limited out, but the snapper didn't know it. We tried targeting other fish, but the Snapper seemed like they were suicidal. Indecently, the Mingo Snapper ( smaller fish in the background) is a better tasting fish. You set both of 'em, all cooked up, in a buffet line, the Mingo disappears first every time.
