"the Dodgers are filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to keep the team out of the hands of Major League Baseball".


I read over the weekend that 22 of the baseball teams were losing money this season.

A bad marriage and it breaks a whole baseball team, how does that happen? Well I wonder if that is the reason or poor play with high priced tickets might have done it also? RTR!

Baseball never fully recovered from it's strike in 1994. The NFL and NBA are next if they don't work things out.

Agreed, but I think the NFL has more of a chance to recover quickly than does baseball or (potentially) basketball simply because of the its overwhelming popularity. Baseball has been on a downward trend for a number of years now, to the point that I think it has dropped to third among the Big Four. Ilove baseball and I hope I am wrong. Besides, Basketball (at least the NBA)  is treading some dangerous ground right now.
