"I was frustrated for a long time last year, long spans of time last year," Cooper said in early August. "It was just my attitude, having a negative attitude."
At some point in time -- the matter-of-fact Cooper never specified -- it occurred to him that a negative attitude wasn't helping anybody, especially himself. He'll never be mistaken for a rah-rah guy, but Cooper changed his mindset as change transpired all around him.
New offensive coordinator. New quarterback(s). New set of circumstances entering what is likely his last at Alabama.
"As a receiver, sometimes you'll get the ball five times a game, sometimes you'll get it 10 times or maybe even more," Cooper said. "If you get it five times, you have to take advantage of all five opportunities. You never know, maybe you can score three times if you get the ball five times. Maybe you can drop two passes.
"I just want to take advantage of all my opportunities and that takes practice." ...
