Freedom From Religion Foundation
The Washington Post reported that every Sunday during the school year, members of the Ole Miss football team and head coach Hugh Freeze attend an optional Fellowship of Christian Athletes worship service led by Football Chaplain John Powell in the Manning Center.
It is kind of hard to take a foundation serious about getting freedom from religion when they are constantly interjecting themselves into religious things that have absolutely nothing to do with them. How many members or supporters of the Freedom From Religion Foundation are on the Ole Miss football team? My guess: 0. How many players or other people associated with the football team contacted the Freedom From Religion Foundation for help with this obvious oppression? My guess: 0. If they want freedom from religion they could start by
not jumping into the middle of everything in society involving religion.
“Just because it’s unconstitutional doesn’t mean that we can swoop in as an organization based out of Madison, Wisconsin, and sue,” he said. “We need someone there who’s affected.”
Does that sound like someone who is trying to break free from religion? No. That is someone who is trying to force their own personal beliefs about religion onto the rest of society. "Hey all of you football players down at Ole Miss who pray and go to church, you can't do that! You represent the university, and the university is a state government institution, and therefore there has to be separation of church and state, bla bla bla, and ifso fatso you have to be an atheist like me."
What would our founding fathers think?
