I can't decide whether it's better for FSU to win.  I hate Notre Dame, and think probably it's best for them to lose.  But I know we'd crush them in  a playoff.

FSU might get into the playoff either way.  If they bench Jameis, will the playoff committee give them a break when they lose to ND?  This whole scenario of him being benched (if he is) could screw up the system.

And don't start with the 'we've got our own problems'.  Put that in the gripe thread.

I feel about the FSU/ND game about the same as I feel about the UT/Awbren game.  I want them to play to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation followed by as many OT as it takes for all players from both sides to be too exhausted to continue therefore it results in a mutual forfeit for both sides...  That isn't biased, is it?  Embarrassed

True, if they win the ACC championship game, they'd likely get a bid (despite the ACC being HORRID this year).

I think it is better for ND to lose. We only have one chance to move up and that is one team at a time. Sure we can beat both teams but we have to make sure the media darlings don't lose and still stay in front of us, so if ND loses then it won't matter. FSU is going to be in front of us anyway to keep us back as long as possible. JMHO. RTR!

Or until the stadium collapses. I'm not picky, either one is good with me.

If Miss St stays undefeated and #1 until our time to play them, and we beat them, assuming we've won the rest of our games leading up to them, I think we jump to the top 4 anyway, regardless of who wins the ND-FSU game. Then beating a good Auburn team should keep us there.

Here's what worries me; Ole Miss runs the table, the committee thinks only the conference champion deserves to go to the playoffs, and we are left holding our..............

I don't see Bama making the playoffs unless they run the table, at a minimum.  Add an Ole Miss loss would make it much more likely.

I wish both ND and FSU could lose this game.

I utterly despise ND!! But I am also not a Fl St. fan either. but I hope ND crashes and burn on the field and get trounced just like we did to them!!

I don't think it matters.  We control our own destiny still.

Having said that, I think I would like Notre Dame to be crushed, by a score of 98-0, so I don't have to listen to CLH drivel about them every week on College Football Final.  Come on, I would expect the 2012 beatdown to dispel the myth that an undefeated Notre Dame is automatically a good team for at least 4 or 5 years.  This is basically the same thing that happened in 2012, minus the imaginary girlfriend.

On the other hand, maybe we see them in the playoffs and give them a do-over.  Laughing

I say let FSU win this one, we have all seen that FSU is not that good this year, and if ND wins it would almost certainly push Bama down the top 8. If ND loses bama moves ahead of them if FSU loses they would probably stay ahead of us.

IDK. but i know Bama needs Ole Miss to lose to someone.

You make a good point.  With this being the first year of the playoffs, I don't want our destiny to rely on the committee deciding whether they should take the SEC #2 or the CCC #1.  (CCC = CupCake Conference).

I fully expect this to happen.  But then it also comes down to the egg bowl.  The winner of the egg bowl will be in a 2 way tie with the winner of the iron bowl.  If it is Ole Miss, we lose.  If it is Mississippi State, we go to Atlanta.  That is assuming all 4 teams handle all their other business, of course.
