With all due respect coach, there have already been enough revelations about academic improprieties at UNC to land Bama the death sentence a dozen times over. I have no reason to believe this will earn them any fewer yawns from the infractions cmte than the last two years of allegations have.

His comments about BB coach Roy Williams were interesting. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Williams knew. If UNC is not hit HARD with sanctions, then the NCAA is totally corrupt & useless.

This guy has filed several suits against UNC.

I think he was the first athlete to come out after the teacher revealed the fake classes.

Things are real stinky.

The lady from the athletic academic advising department that went to UNC-Wilmington has recently retired.

UNC sent her away to Wilmington after the allegations came to light.  She had been employed by UNC atnletic department for decades.

She was basically a secretary, not a teacher, who graded players work.

Former professors have left the country and refuse to return.

All kinds of crazy stuff.

Aight don't tell me that Coach Dean Smith had all this going on. I always thought he was an honest and great man. Is any of this going to be seen while he was the COB of the ship? RTR!

We can all throw stones at UNC.  They deserve it.

But if you think they're the only school with such a setup, you're being naive.
The Aubs got caught doing the SAME thing a while back, and their Sociology Chairman was central to the scandal.  Once the story broke, a professor in Sociology ...

(Professor Gundlach) took the case to John Heilman, a university administrator who would soon become Auburn’s provost. He included paperwork showing that Professor Petee taught more than 250 students individually during the 2004-5 academic year. He also provided Mr. Heilman with examples of how prominent athletes had cut academic corners.

“It was at that point that I figured the corruption runs the full gantlet of the administration,” Professor Gundlach said. “We were getting sociology majors graduating without taking sociology classes. I’m a director of a program putting out people who I know more than likely don’t deserve a degree.”

This is a pattern that likely occurs at many schools.  It starts with advisors in the athletic departments directing students into the easy classes, then the classes get easier as the professors receive tickets and gifts.  Before long, you have a full-blown scandal.

It's not too hard to uncover.  Simply look at where most of the athletes are majoring.  The Aub scandal broke because CBS announced the majors and GPA (grades) of the starting players at Aubrun.  You might notice that they don't do that any more.  Most schools don't want the public examining the player academics.

Thanks Chechem for the explanation. Actually I was some what naive till you brought this to light. No wonder students in other countries are ahead of ours. They don't need head start they are trained smart it seems. I don't know that may be the wrong idea but something has to be done about honesty and integrity in schools today to me. RTR!

I met with a representative of the NCAA a few years ago.  He asked what could be done.  I told him,

"Put the TV money into scholarships, as was originally intended when Chevrolet started giving money for schools during the early TV games of the 1960s.  Stop giving TV and Bowl cash to the Athletic Departments.  The big money that drives college athletics comes from TV and Bowls.  Take it away by giving it as scholarships (to reward academic excellence), and the scandals will end."

His answer: "I don't think we can tell the TV people how to spend their money."

While he, the NCAA rep, was absolutely correct, the NCAA can and probably should tell it's member schools what moneys that it can receive from corporate sponsors and what it can and can not do with that money I would think.

Wish it would.  Football and all of college sports are spiraling down otherwise.
