2 Losses for SEC West teams to non-SEC West teams on Saturday after the division members had one loss in 36 games to non-division teams entering the weekend. Georgia had administered the SEC West's only outside defeat before Saturday by beating Arkansas on Oct. 18. On Saturday, Georgia beat Auburn 34-7 and Missouri beat Texas A&M 34-27.

2 Two-game losing streaks for LSU under coach Les Miles. The Tigers dropped back-to-back games with Miles at helm for the second time when they lost to Arkansas 17-0 on Saturday after falling to Alabama on Nov. 8. Miles has a 25-2 record in games after losses at LSU. The other back-to-back defeats came in 2008 when the Tigers dropped consecutive games to Ole Miss and Arkansas.

3 Players in SEC history have more receiving yards than Alabama WR Amari Cooper after he caught eight passes for 88 yards against Mississippi State on Saturday to boost his career receiving yardage to 3,039. Jordan Matthews holds the SEC record for career receiving yards with 3,759 for Vanderbilt from 2010 through 2013. Terrence Edwards had 3,093 for Georgia from 1999 through 2002, and Alshon Jeffery had 3,042 for South Carolina from 2009 through 2011.

4 SEC winning streaks have been longer than five games in Mississippi State history, and all of them ended in losses to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide snapped MSU's seven-game winning streak against conference competition by beating the Bulldogs 25-20 on Saturday. Mississippi State had eight-game league winning streaks ended by a 19-0 loss to Alabama in 1944 and a 19-7 loss to Alabama in 1999 and a seven-game SEC streak ended by a 13-10 loss to Alabama in 1981.

...

5 Victories by teams coached by Nick Saban over the No. 1 team in the AP poll after Alabama defeated Mississippi State 25-20 on Saturday. Saban now has more victories than any other coach against the top-rated team. Four other coaches had four victories over the No. 1 team. Three are likely familiar to football fans - Jimmy Johnson, Lou Holtz and Joe Paterno. The other coach was Jack Mollenkopf, who guided Purdue from 1956 through 1969.

5 Consecutive games with at least 30 points for Auburn's opponents, a school record. Auburn's opponents had scored 30 points in three straight games in 1951, 1979, 2002 and 2011. In its current streak, Auburn lost to Mississippi State 38-23, defeated South Carolina 43-35, defeated Ole Miss 35-31, lost to Texas A&M 41-38 and lost to Georgia 34-7.

 Life is good.
