LSU holds off a late charge by the Aggies to win, 23-17, in a game that LSU dominated but never could put it away until the end.

LSU missed two field goals of reasonable distance.

Aggies scored one TD after a turnover and the other after a questionable pass interference call kept the drive alive.

With 2 minutes left, Aggies had the football and were driving down the field, to around midfield.  It appeared that the LSU nose tackle jumped into the neutral zone before the snap, so Aggie QB Kyle Allen thought he had a free play and threw it up on a deep ball.  INT LSU.  No Flag.  LSU assumes victory formation, kneels down, runs out clock.  Aggie fans were not happy.

======================================

TCU easily beat Texas 48-10, trying to make a case for their inclusion in the top 4 playoffs.  28 points scored by TCU in the 4th Quarter, a bit of piling on.

We watched the LSU-A&M game, and checked on the UT-TCU game periodically.  LSU muscled its way through A&M with their run game.  Their passing game still stinks.

Both teams are full of freshmen. They'll be good next year for sure.

LSU needs a QB. Jenkins passing game is terrible.

No.  A&M is still a Big 12 team and won't consistently win in the SEC.  Saban has finally broken LSU - they're done.

I wonder if Lester will be in Ann Arbor next year.  Prolly not, but you never know.

They could do (and have done) worse.

Last time Michigan didn't want to match Les' salary, and Les was happy with his success at LSU.  Things have changed a bit since then, OSU hired Urban and paid for it, Saban's teams keep beating LSU in tight games and when it counts the most.

I don't think Les is their first choice, but he might be their best.

Time will tell.

I think Sumlin is a good coach who is still building his team. He has done much with the recruits he inherited, and he has recruited well.  Next year will be a good indicator.  The Aggies have not shown the ability to stop the run needed to succeed consistently in the SEC, and if that doesn't change then you're probably right.

LSU is a young team.  Miles had a lot of success prior to Saban's arrival at Bama, but Saban keeps getting the better of him, on the recruiting trail and on the field.  And now the west is really strong, with Arkansas perhaps poised to take over LSU's role as the power rushing and defensive juggernaut.  But LSU still has one of the most talented teams in the country, and I'm not counting them out just yet.  If he is ever going to do it, this year would be the year for Miles to bail to Michigan.

Meanwhile, Rich Rod just took his team to the PAC-12 championship game.  They will play Oregon, and they are responsible for Oregon's only loss this year.
