Basketball Injuries

If anyone knows anything about Tarrant, Kessens and Hale's injuries please share the information.

Here is what little bit I have been able to find.

Tarrant: I have not seen an update on his status. He has missed 8 straight games. At the Vandy game he was wearing a boot and limping bad. It looked to me at that time he may be out for the season.

Kessens: According to RollTide.com he sat out last nights game due to a deep bruise on his knee cap. Hopefully he will be back against Vandy on Saturday.

Hale: Hale hurt the same foot that he had surgery on in the off season. CAG did not know the extent of the injury in his post game interview on TV after the game. However, he did say "we are concerned" which led me to believe the trainers told him it may be serious. I have not seem any updates this morning.

Hale has a boatload of skills & positives & I hate to see a young player being continually injured & never realizing his full potential. Look at Derrick Rose in the NBA. A real shame.

Hale was just being to play well. I suspected the lack of summer workouts and only being cleared to play just as the season started was the reason for his early season struggles.

Two weeks ago we had Tarrant and Obasohan out leaving true freshman Justin Coleman as our only point guard. Now we have Hale and Kessens out leaving Taylor as our only big man. At the beginning of this year I thought a strength of the team would be a deep bench. Once again I was wrong.

I have heard that he is suffering from plantar fasciitis. This is something that I read and could only be a rumor. I personally think he has two injuries, one in each leg/foot but again I can't confirm this. I saw him at DCH a couple of weeks ago and he was limping pretty bad, I don't think we will see him play anymore this season. JMO

Plantar fasciitis, isn't that the injury Ronald Steele had that caused him to quit the team his senior year?

Yes, Tarrant. I'm not sure about Steele. If it is true about Tarrant and the way this season is gone, I would say it will be next season before we see him again.

Steele had micro-fractures in his knee. Very serious condition with a long rehab.

Steele had micro-fractures in his knee. Very serious condition with a long rehab.

Prior to 2009-10 season Steele has signed for Israeli club Bnei Hasharon.After a season in which he averaged 9.8 points in 22.5 minutes per game.[8] Steele had his contract extended with the club for another season. In July 2011 he signed with Tofaş Bursa for one season.[9]

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

Plantar fasciitis (also known as plantar fasciopathy or jogger's heel) is a common painful disorder affecting the heel and underside of the foot. It is a disorder of the insertion site of ligament on the bone and is characterized by scarring, inflammation, or structural breakdown of the foot's plantar fascia. It is often caused by overuse injury of the plantar fascia, increases in exercise, weight, or age.

KNEE MICROFRACTURE

Microfracture surgery is an articular cartilage repair surgical technique that works by creating tiny fractures in the underlying bone. This causes new cartilage to develop from a so-called super-clot.

There have been many notable professional athletes who have undergone the procedure. Partially because of the high level of stress placed on the knees by these athletes, the surgery is not a panacea and results have been mixed. Many players' careers effectively end despite the surgery.

Portland Trail Blazers rookie Greg Oden underwent the procedure on his right knee in early September 2007 and missed the entire 2007-2008 NBA season. At only 19 at the time of the surgery, doctors were confident that he would return to at or near full strength by the 2008-2009 season; he had a second microfracture surgery, this time on his left knee, in November 2010. Subsequently, Oden did not play in the NBA for over four years, missing the entirety of the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 NBA seasons.[19] The former San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets player, Tracy McGrady also underwent microfracture surgery; doctors were confident that the 2 time scoring champion will return to full strength. As of 2012 he has not had the same speed and jumping ability as he formerly did. He retired in 2013, never regaining his previous form after the surgery.

Crap, I hope he heals & is 100% again. He is a real talent. Just hate hearing stuff like this.
