Spieth on the difficult par-4, 450-yard, narrow 7th.  He starts with a long drive, but wide right among the patrons in the straw.

Rose also long, but also into the pine straw.

 

Both players have difficult shots, but Rose is behind a tree.

Spieth goes through a gap, and leaves the ball just short of the green, between 2 traps (a stance here?).

Rose may break a club here .....
He whacked the tree, maybe breaking the club, but got it fat.  Rose has 40 yards yet to the green.

Advantage Spieth (who could likely par)...

Rose uses the slope on a marvelous shot, and almost gets a birdie on the roll back down.  He'll par.

Spieth has a stance, but gets the chip on the slope, and his ball also rolls back to within 5'.  Testy, but he should be able to par...

.... NO.  HE MISSES IT.  The lead is 3 again.

Rose's tap-in does a 360, but goes in.

Meanwhile, at 9, Tiger chips well.  How much damage was done?  It must have hurt, and we won't tell Preacher what he said as he screamed!  He's in pain, and may not be able to drive with any power.

Spieth has a chance at birdie from 20'...

He sends it... past the hole by 20".  No problem; PAR.

BUT ROSE MISSES THE PUTT, AND THE LEAD IS 5 AFTER 9 HOLES!

Spieth first to hit.  He's on the green (well, fringe), about 20' away.
Rose has a short approach after the long drive...  His ball hits short of the hole and sticks below the hole 15' away.

You're going to have to start typing with some type of UK accent if you expect me to take you seriously as a good golf play-by-play man.

Yep, he needs three, a separate Scottish, British, & Irish accent.
