"He did a really good job in Orlando (for the bowl game) of focusing and concentrating and really practicing hard," Bama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart said of Kirkpatrick Sunday. "I don’t know if a light clicked on in Orlando, but I remember when we came back from the bowl game, I looked in the weight room in January, and he was in there working out. I thought that was a little out-of-character for him to be down there by himself when there is not a group down there. He was really working hard, and I think he has really bought into that."
"Dee Millner was a freshman (last season) and regardless of what position you play and your potential to be a good player, football is a developmental game so you are going to get to be a lot better player past your freshman year," Nick Saban said Sunday. "He did a really good job for us last year.
