Alabama freshman RB ruled ineligible, sophomore DB off the team

Two players who participated in spring practice will not be on the Alabama roster this fall.

Freshman running back DeSherrius Flowers will not be enrolled this fall "due to a recently discovered initial ineligibility issue," according to a UA news release.

Coach Nick Saban also announced defensive back Jonathan Cook is "no longer a member of the team."

I'm starting to have some big concerns with the depth at running back. If the injury bug hits us there this year like it did last year, Bama is in big trouble.

If Henry or Drake goes down for any length of time, you're right.  If the two of them stay healthy I think we'll be fine.  It's hard to believe we're in this position though, after so many years of Heisman candidates stacked on top of each other.

Possible transfer from W Virginia that may help provide depth. But you are right, this is getting ridiculous. How did we go from Running Back U to please don't leave? We have had a run of bad luck at RB lately.
