I think there are several positives to look at.
First, despite EVERYTHING going wrong during the game, we still came close to winning.
Secondly, we gave Ole Miss 17 points off turnover, they got 7 more on a fluke pass ricochet play, & 7 more on the refs missing a lineman downfield during a TD pass. That's 31 points as a GIFT!! So we worked hard for 37 points & Ole Miss scored 12 points on their own.
Thirdly, we had over 500 yards of total offense & ran 74 plays. OM QB Kelly has 341 yards passing, but 77 came on the missed lineman downfield, & 66 yards came on the deflected catch for TD. That's 143 yards of passing by fluke/ref incompetence. Again, take those 2 plays away & they have 198 yards passing to go with their 92 yards rushing as a team. We had 215 yards rushing & 288 passing. The final score should have been something like 42-14 Bama.
Fourthly, we found out that Coker can run at a selected moment & that can be used as a weapon in the future. Like I said, selective running, not like a Cam or Nick Marshall.
No doubt there was confusion by QB's & WR's during the game. That has to be worked on. Plus, Drake must be thrown to, to more to utilize his speed. Also, we should concentrate more passes to Mullaney & OJ Howard. ArDarius Stewart might fit in that group, too. Plus, we need more imagination in our passing attack. This team can still win the rest of the way out, I am convinced of that.
