Kerry Goode diagnosed with ALS

Goode received the diagnosis Aug. 11 after beginning to experience symptoms during the last year that included rapid weight loss and unexplained muscle spasms and twitches.

"I cannot begin to thank you for all of the love you've shown this little boy from Town Creek Alabama," Goode said on Facebook. "If you see me out and about, it's okay to come over and give me a hug. I'm still the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I'm approaching this like everything else in my life, with the blessing of God and a fight you cannot begin to imagine.

"There is a truth in knowing you are potentially battling something terminal. A truth that changes you so deep down inside that nothing will ever be the same. Your whole world stops on a dime. In the words of Tim McGraw, Some Day I Hope You Get The Chance To Live Like You're Dying. Love is so much sweeter....Life is so much more simple.

"If I could do it all over again, I'd still chose my life. I still have a lot of living, loving and laughing to do. We all need to stand for something, whether it's ALS, Leukemia or some other illness that's searching for a cure. Who knows, the life you save, just might be someone you love or maybe your own."

Wow!  What a kick in the gut!  Saddens my heart to read about this especially considering what his family has already gone through regarding Clyde.  Prayers for Kerry and his family...

My dad managed some dry cleaners in Huntsville when I was growing up.  He had an uncle or cousin or some relative of the Goode family that worked for him.  Good, Goode people...

How incredibly sad. A truly horrible disease which kills you a day at a time. God, please take care of him & others with this disease.

Oh wow! Just devastating! The Goode family has gone through so much. God bless him and the rest of the family. Will be praying for him.
