Mets vs Royals-Game 1 of World Series

First pitch of game to Royals and Escobar hits inside-the-park homer. Second time in World Series history that first pitch to leadoff hitter resulted in an inside-the-park homer. Last time, the 1903 World Series (the first Series). Granderson Mets leadoff hitter hit homer later. Last time both leadoff hitters had homers in same game was 1958 Series (Braves/Yankees).

3-3 top of the 7th, Mets at bat, reliever coming in.

Top of the 8th, Mets 4-3, on error by first baseman on a bad hop. Only 2nd error by KC in all the playoffs so far. Stolen base by previous hitter set up the run to score on the error. The first baseman is a Gold Glove Winner.

Gordon homers for KC in bottom of 9th to tie game 4-4. Still playing.
