Excellent, well said post, 2. I remember how great it was when we won NCs in '61, '64 and '65. That was 3 of 5; now we got 4 of 7 and it feels like the early '60s all over again.
How do we thank the coaches and players for all the happiness they have given us fans??
(Addendum... I read or heard today that since Bama was #1 in the final AP poll, it means that for 8 straight years we have been ranked #1 at some point in the season. That's unmatched. Maybe someone can verify that.)
I too am soooo happy for the sr's on out team and the jr's who have worked so hard. Cecil has a great column about why this win is so sweet; says it all as only Cecil can. (Sorry, can't link to Tusca News.)
I will be interested to see how Clemson reacts to this loss. Texas has still not recovered. ND has not gotten back to being a #1 ranked team. FL and LSU have never gotten back to where they were before NC losses.
Proud Bama keep on rollin'...
When they limited scholarships to even the competition, they said dynasties were over. When they introduced the NC game, this was supposed to make it tougher to repeat, and when they went to a four-team playoff, many said Bama couldn't knock them all off.
Now they're talking eight teams. Why don't they just face the reality that the high Tide is here to stay.
