The offer came completely out of the blue for Turner, an Alabama native and the son of Kevin Turner, a former teammate of Swinney who is battling ALS. Before offering the scholarship to the younger Turner in person, Swinney visited Kevin, who uses a ventilator and feeding tube.

It would have been nice to see another Turner in crimson, but I can't blame him for taking a full ride. Yet another example of just how classy Dabo is.

Yep, Dabo is a stand up dude.  Bama could have offered him a Bryant scholly though.

Sure

Turner didn't play for Bryant.  Did they open that up to children of all former players?

Also, the Bryant Scholarship is a dollar amount that doesn't cover full tuition anymore, I don't believe.  Certainly not room and board like he'd get on a football scholly.
