He's correct, running it the "legal" direction. 90ft/30yds between each base. For some reason running a 100yd sprint in football practice and trying to leg out a triple never seemed that similar. I guess cause one was a conditioning drill (i.e. work).

I used the baseball analogy because during the 1992 season. A sports writer showed each week how far the defense allowed the other teams offense had advanced toward home on a MLB baseball diamond. I did say anything about hitting a triple.

Guess, at my age, I'm smart enough to realize that "running from home plate to third base" is accomplished quickest by the shortest route. That's what occurred to me. I wasn't thinking of hitting a baseball and running the "legal" way.
