Alabama beat Troy 5-3 on Tuesday night. Alabama will host a strong South Alabama team tonight at 6:30. South Alabama has been ranked all year and has the # 20 RPI. This weekend we travel to play #3 Texas A&M. That will be our 4th SEC road trip in six SEC weekends.

The win over Troy improved our record to 23-14, 8-7 SEC. Our RPI is 45. We are 15-5 at home 4-2 SEC. We are 5-6 on the road 4-5 SEC. We are 3-3 neutral. The "new" Joe has been a nice home field advantage. After A&M 3 of our last 4 SEC series are at home.

Hmmm, looks like a critical series for us.  Thanks for the numbers!  Applause E-Cred

Alabama lost another close game last night. A&M got 3 runs in the 1st and was held scoreless the rest of the way until the 10th. Bama fought back and tied the game 3-3 but could not hold A&M scoreless in the 10th.

Game 2 is at 2:00 today.

Bama wins Game Two 7-4. Very good game for Alabama. We led the entire game. Jake Walters gave us a good start and picks up the win.

The series is tied 1-1. We go for the series win tomorrow at 1:00.

For those that do not know A&M is rated #3 in the NCAA. This was a very good win.

I hope it's not good enough to keep Gaspard around for another year. Lips Sealed

Gaspard appears to be a pretty good recruiter, but like Grant, just can't seem to develop his players to their potential. Many of his coaching calls leave you scratching your head as well. I still hope the team can make or even host a regional, in spite of him.

I think his biggest problems with developing players are his assistants. Wink

Maybe we should hope for the second-best solution: repacle assistants.

After all of the criticism that he has received the past two years, I've been very surprised he hasn't made a change in his assistants.

I agree 100% with we need to replace Andy Phillips. Since he was hired we have been in the lower third of the SEC in offensive numbers. As the hitting coach that is his job to improve batting average and runs scored. Dax Norris is doing a pretty good job with the pitchers.

Bama loses Game Three 2-1. A&M takes the series 2-1. The game was tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 9th. Bama walked the lead off hitter. He was bunted to 2nd and scored on a walk off single.

We are very close to being a good team. A&M is the # 3 team in the NCAA and the 2 games they won was a 4-3 10 inning and 2-1 win the the bottom of the 9th.

The schedule changes to favor us the rest of the way. We are 9-9 in SEC with 4 of our 6 series being on the road. We are home 3 of the last 4 series. We have Miss State and Auburn at home before traveling to Arkansas. We end the regular season at home against South Carolina. Miss St and USCe will be difficult even at home. Auburn and Arkansas are two of the worst teams in the conference.

We play Samford in B'ham on Tuesday before hosting Miss St on the weekend.

Well I hope we can salvage a play off situation out of all this. I believe our men are trying really hard just the bounce of a ball just hasn't happened. RTR!
