With eight catches for 118 yards and a touchdown, as well as 96 yards in punt returns and 253 all-purpose yards, Maze delivered as quickly as the 2011 season's lights came on.
"Marquise had a really, really good game. He did some good things for us on special teams, changed field position, especially with the punt returns," said UA coach Nick Saban. "... We knew that we were going to put him in some positions in the game where he was going to have some opportunities, and he certainly played well."
Despite a stellar performance for Maze, Saban said he hadn't been at full health in practices leading up to the game.
