3. Finally, sanity

While Nike continues to churn out softball uniforms for major college football programs, we bring you one game and two colors this weekend in State College, Pa.

Alabama vs. Penn State. Crimson vs. Navy Blue.

Imagine, if you will, the conversations between Nike and these two pillars of college football:

Nike marketing dork: “Coach Saban, we’d like for you to look at our prototype pro combat series uniform with this menacing-looking elephant on the side of the helmet, please.”

Saban: “It’s not part of the process. If it’s not part of the process, it’s not part of our program. If it’s not in the program, it’s not the process.”

And in another part of the world…

Nike marketing geek: “Coach Paterno, check out this tough looking Lion we’ve got for the side of your helmets!”

JoePa: “You’re who with what? ... get the hell out of here."

The guy doesn't know anything about football if he thinks Georgia can win ten games this year.  Boise St. might be able to win the SEC East this year, there's no way they could win the West. 

It's not Boise's fault that they're in a crap conference, but until they've actually proven they can win 10-12 games in a major conference I'm tired of hearing commentators declare them the best team in the country because they win one significant game a year.

I think it may be done anyway when the four super conferences are formed.  I agree there's a very strong possibility they make it in this year.

Funny, but we're right back to where we were in the late 1960s-1970s.  Back then it was Penn State who played a baby schedule and went undefeated most every year.  They were the poll busters and media darlings.

You can't play one tough game (supposedly tough) a year and then be declared a National Championship finalist (supposedly). The media has a lot of power and Boise St is a recipient of that, so until the conferences are realigned to form the "super conferences" all of this mess will continue.

Problem for Boise is, nobody wants them.  Flying into Boise is a nightmare and they have a small TV market (or so I've read).  I'm sick of them too, but Georgia let us down, so now we've got them for another year.

BSU is a good team. I'm just not ready to crown them BCS champs just yet.. Sheridan says Boise will be favored by at least 17 points against everyone left on their schedule this year until the bowl game.

Georgia's record from 2009 thru last Saturday night is one game over .500 posting a record of 14-13. For Boise to come out of that game and writers to give them all the praise for winning is kind of dis-honest on their part.

The writer Haynes in this article is just fanning the flames and I find it hard to take what he writes serious. There are hundreds of sports writers accross the country that hate the BCS and look at BSU winning the BCS as a way to get a playoff system in place. Most writers have hidden agendas.

What would Bama's record be if they only had to play UGA and then play bosie's schedule?

Think about last year, If Bama had played VA Tech, and then Bosie's schedule would they have lost to Nevada?

Bosie is a good team but Good don't cut it in the SEC. you got to be Dang near perfect.

This will continue until they make it to the game some day, and hopefully get the snot beat out of them by the SEC champ.  Remember about 8 or 10 years ago when THE OSU was the media darling?  They finally made it to the BCS NCG a couple of times and lost both times to the SEC.  Now when they are having a good year, nobody in the media even mentions going to the BCS NCG for them.

If Boise does make it in, I don't think they will take the SEC's spot unless the whole SEC just has a horrible year.
