 pmull you know how I feel. I'm right there with you. Gas is backup to $3.39! It was $3.09 in December. It could hit $5 bucks this summer.

My son and I drove to Atlanta in 2008 for the SEC CG against Florida. The one we lost. Gas in Atlanta was $1.42. I remember because it was around $1.59 here. I filled up coming back.

That was just 3 years ago in December.

Romney won the Florida primary yesterday.  But he also won it last time, so I don't think this means much.  The South Carolina winner has been the nominee for as long as I can remember, so I still think it will be Newt.

Good point SC.  They have said that Romney has more than triple the delegates Newt has but I think we shall see as we go further. RTR!

I wish Paul and Santorum would drop out of the race but they both say they are going to keep going. I think it will come down to Newt and Romney. I am still undecided between them. Newt has some old baggage he is having trouble with that may cost him in the long run. I ilke Romney but I am concerned be may be in the middle rather than a true conservative. If I had to pick a winner right now my guess would be Romney. I think he has a head of steam that is going to be difficult to slow down.

New York Times Loses $40 Million

The New York Times newspaper just took a big hit, a hit worth $40 million in the year 2011. Although the shift from print to online publishing in journalism no doubt contributed to the loss of millions, it doesn't help that NYT's writers produce work from a Leftist perspective Americans just aren't interested in reading.

The New York Times Company suffered a net loss of almost $40million in 2011, with its fourth quarter profits falling by 12.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2010.

The company is grappling with sinking advertising revenue and a recent change in the top management after losing CEO Janet Robinson, who received a multimillion dollar severance package.

 At the end of this marathon session, the nine Justices will spend several months pondering whether the so-called Affordable Care Act will survive and serve as testimony to President Obama’s ideological boldness—or become a cautionary lesson in the foolhardiness of pursuing large-scale change without an ideological consensus across party lines.

The court is taking this question very seriously, as it should, given the scope of the law and the kinds of changes it represents, not only to the health-care system but also to matters as grand as the separation of powers and the very structure of our constitutional republic itself.

In a potential Election 2012 matchup, President Obama attracts 48% of the vote and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney 42% (see tracking history). Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). In the race for the GOP nomination, it’s Romney 34%, Gingrich 27%, Santorum 18% and Paul at 11%. Even with such a modest lead, 75% of GOP voters believe Romney will end up as the party nominee. 

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve.

Overall, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance.  Forty-nine percent (49%) at least somewhat disapprove.??
