Last year Watson played a nearly perfect game, and they couldn't beat us. With his tendency to throw interceptions, he's not likely to perform at the same level. As good as Bama's defense was last year, this year's unit is better.  They'll get more pressure on him and won't give up as many big runs. Clemson won't get 40 this year, but Bama won't get 45 either unless the defense scores 2-3 times.  I think it will be a close, low-scoring game.

Good points.
I'd add that 'Clemson's defense is better than last year.  They had injuries at key positions during the game against us.
Similarly, I worry if Reuben Foster is hampered by his knee injury, and will be slowed.  Ugh!
Also, it doesn't appear that Watson is as quick as he was last year.  Certainly he doesn't run as much as he did.  I wonder if he bulked up and lost some quickness.

BIG-10 sucks, and the news media swarms to anoint them every year!

Not just the media, the playoff committee has given the Big10 too much credit two years in a row.  That put 4 Big10 teams in the New Years 6 Bowls plus the playoffs.  The SEC, ACC and PAC12 got 2 teams, Big12 one team.  That puts a lot of money into Big10 coffers.

I think Clemson will be a handful for Bama this year.  Bama has the better Defense, Clemson better QB play, Bama better special teams.  I hope I'm wrong...

I will flat out say it:  We can't beat Clemson if our O is not a he$$ of a lot better than it was last night.  The game plan vs. Wash was ultra conservative, and we got away with it.  But that won't get it done vs. Clemson.

Kiff needs to get his head on straight and Jalen has got to step up big time or it's gonna be a sad night for us Tiders.

From an inside source: The game plan was offensively very vanilla on purpose. The staff was confident enough that they would beat Washington anyway. They didn't want to show Clemson/OSU anything they didn't have to, and they didn't want Hurts taking any unnecessary chances.

Why all the negativity? We beat a quality opponent by 17 points. The outcome was never in doubt in the 2nd half. We are unbeaten and playing for the championship.

My take on the offensive game plan: The only way UW could beat us was if we beat ourselves with turnovers. The game plan limited Hurts to easy targets or tuck it and run. The first pass of the game might have led to some of the conservative play calling. Without penalties our offense would have been much more productive.

Clemson has struggled at times this year but they looked very good against OSU last night. It will be our most difficult test of the year. Vegas has us a 7 point favorite.

I suggest the Big 10 be renamed the Little 14.

By the way, the Columbus Dispatch in Ohio State's hometown just wrote that Saban is "perhaps the greatest coach in college football history."

Well listening to the game last night I really think Coach Dabo is going to have them fired up after last year. It may be the 4th QTR. before their excitement settles down we all know he is a good motivator. RTR!

 Raising hand

I second that!

I heard a few callers from "up north" on Finebaum this year talking about how much better the Big 10 conference was than all other conferences. Their dismal bowl record ought to shut their mouths.

They can't even count, thinking 14 teams make up a conference of 10.
