Last month in Orlando, Byers said he needed to raise his ACT score to qualify academically...

BUT, he can't take the ACT again until after the signing date.  So we'll sign him and HOPE he suddenly attains the intelligence to score above "trainable" on the test.

Looks like he's heading to Junior College...

Sorry folks but I don't buy any of this wishful thinking when it comes to academics.  HS guys have to work hard OFF the field too.  They know what's required to "make the grade" with their academics.  So to me it's some kind of character issue that they neglect the academic requirements.

HS Coach -- What say you?

Were grades an issue for Rolando?

Football or not, I am not a fan of having unqualified students in college.
It's just wrong, frustrating, and embarrassing.
If he qualifies, okay.  If not, let some other school explain his presence.

I totally agree with Chechem. I know some of the slow learners are great players but when they can't make the SAT or ACT then it is time to send them somewhere to learn not at the THE University of Alabama. What happens when he shows up on the news and can't spell and can't talk it looks really bad on our future academics. Sorry, if he makes it on his own fine but if not sorry. RTR!
