RB Najee Harris Announces His Arrival

Good story.

I’m not sure that there’s been a more anxious high profile signing in recent years at Alabama quite like Najee Harris’. In fairness to Harris, the majority of the smoke came from doing his due diligence taking his officials, as well as hopeful wishing from rival schools like Michigan and Cal, as well as statements made by his family.

Not a bad Spring Game for an 18 year old kid.

Using a mix of physicality and nice footwork, the 6’1 200-pounder led all backs on the ground. He carried the ball for 70 tough yards against the Alabama first-team defense on just 14 carries.

Six or seven years back, CNS used to always want three RB's in the rotation. With the speed-up in play and the number of plays the O runs now, I think he wants four. But that means four HEALTHY for every game. Going through a tough SEC schedule + post season, we need 6 - 7 top notch backs just to be sure we are at strength for every game.
Each back will get fewer carries. Some may play more in the first half vs. the second and vice versa. A guy like Najee coming in fresh in late 3rd qtr when opposing O is tiring a bit could be an advantage. Anyway, it could be that each RB will get fewer carries and gain fewer yds-per-game but overall running game should be strong....if OL can block. (Oh that...)
