Feedback on New Offensive Coordinator

A reporter at the Manning Passing Academy in late June wanted to know about Alabama's offense and whether Jalen Hurts expects any big changes under a new offensive coordinator.

The problem? The reporter was apparently under the impression that Steve Sarkisian was still the Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator and asked Hurts, "Do you expect anything different under Sarkisian this year or pretty much all the same?"

Jalen Hurts' showing at the Manning Passing Academy has earned him praised from those like Archie Manning, Phil Savage and now a fellow SEC quarterback.

"A lot of guys say he can't throw, but that's very untrue," South Carolina's Jake Bentley said of Alabama's sophomore quarterback Thursday at SEC Media Days.

You know just about every one of our QB's who people, even fans, thought couldn't throw went to the Manning Camp and could throw really good when they left. I sure hope this helps Hurts a lot too. It sounds as if it might have we just have to wait and see. RTR!

Not thrilled that Jalen is talking to the press.  Would that have been allowed on campus?  I don't think so.

JH is a Sophomore now and is allowed to talk to the press.

I think the last two games of the season last year got fans thinking JH can't throw. but if you go back and look he made some very good throws during the season. His long pass to AS during the USC was a Bomb. He made a Great throw on a roll out against UF in the SEC championship game to score a TD.

it seemed he was just afraid to make a mistake in the last two games and he wasn't just letting it fly (of course Saban would probably never let him do that anyway.)

It is no surprise to me that JH can throw it. I just hope players get open better this year when he scrambles. Last year the Wr's seemed like they didn't know what to do when he started to move around.

I think he will be a lot like McElwain. Pass to set up the run. Tight ends will be very active. Not as many screens and jet sweeps that we saw with Kiffin.

i know they always caught the other team off guard with a big run play. Probably because they expect Brady to throw all the time. Plus the NFL throws a lot more that college normally.

This^^^ Starting with the TAMU game. It was glaringly evident in the playoffs.

Saban said during the recent "Talking Season" that Hurts was not developed throughout last season.  Which is to say indirectly that Kiffin was not doing his job.
