Matchup to watchAlabama QB AJ McCarron vs. Arkansas LB Jerico Nelson
McCarron and Nelson may not actually swap helmet paint very much on Saturday (and who could tell if they did?) but there is no mistaking that their on-field interaction will go a long way to determine the Crimson Tide's offensive outcome. Why? Nelson is listed as an outside linebacker, but in truth, he is a hybrid player. He'll remain on the field in nickel situations and will have plenty of coverage responsibility in passing situations. Yet, he'll occasionally blitz and can cause problems for a quarterback. The Razorbacks' team captain is a senior three-year letterman with over 200 career tackles and, as UA coach Nick Saban said earlier in the week, "It seems like he's been at Arkansas longer than I've been here." If you've forgotten Nelson's defining hit on Auburn's Mario Fannin from 2009, re-familiarize yourself at the 1:36 mark.
