Monday before Iron Bowl PRACTICE:

Left guard Deonte Brown (turf toe) was taking reps with the second team, while Lester Cotton Sr. was with the first team. Right guard Alex Leatherwood (sprained ankle) was not seen at practice, so Joshua Casher was with the first team.

 Sad

Deionte Thompson looked fine going through drills...

Damien Harris (concussion) was not seen at practice...

 Sad

Glad DT was at full speed. I hate it for DH and AL. DB would also be unlikely to play, I would think. Turf toe is a lingering injury.

Damien Harris is back on the field.  He didn't participate in contact drills, but he dressed and was out there.

 Applause E-Cred

LG Deonte Brown (turf toe) was at practice but working with the second team, as he was yesterday. RG Alex Leatherwood (twisted ankle) was there but didn’t appear to be doing much.
Also absent ... Matt Womack. Not sure his situation...
The first team offensive line was Jonah Williams, Lester Cotton, Ross Pierschbacher, Josh Casher and Jedrick Wills.

Proud to see DH will be back. Now I am praying DB will be back on the O-line. If our first team is fully ready my picked score will be close. RTR!

Damien Harris injury update: Alabama RB clears concussion protocol, expected to play vs. Auburn

Saban also said offensive linemen Alex Leatherwood (ankle) and Deonte Brown (turf toe) are considered day-to-day, though they are available to practice and making progress.

Wednesday before Iron Bowl:

Damien Harris (concussion) continued to practice in a black jersey.
Left guard Deonte Brown (turf toe) still seemed limited.
Right guard Alex Leatherwood (twisted ankle) was working with the first team offensive line for the first time this week...
...Matt Womack was ...working with the second team offensive line.
You could see some photos from Iron Bowls past taped over some of the squat racks in the weight room as we waited to go outside. That’s something we’ve seen before, especially when Alabama is playing an opponent that beat them the year before.

Saban "Ask Coach" on Wednesday:

Senior Day Saturday (most all seniors have already graduated).

Lots of rain, so worked on the field and discussed techniques to avoid slipping (as players did against Citadel).

Life-lessons discussion about the players.

Hard to stay focused every game.  Some players can't stay focused every game.  General "rat poison" discussion.

Saban likes the traditional Thanksgiving Day food.

Brown must be immune to the deer antler spray.

I'm sure it's been applied.

But with Dr. Saban's prognosis record, Deonte could either be nearly healed or crippled for life!

In all seriousness, I remember when Eddie Lacy had turf toe and was affected nearly the entire year by it.

Well, every sprain isn't the same.  Hopefully Deonte can wear the support shoe and be back to normal soon.  After all, we don't need him for run plays as much as passing, which should be easier on his turf-toe injury.

Hopefully.

Thanksgiving thought from the social media account of Alabama running back and Hillcrest High graduate Brian Robinson Jr., a player good enough to start at many SEC schools:

“I may not be in the position that I wish I was in right now, but I’m thankful to be where I am.”

Gotta love Brian.
