Nebraska v Iowa on TV this morning.  Tuned in just before halftime to see Barret Pickering kick a 46 yard FG for Nebraska.  Apparently this Freshman FG kicker from Birmingham, Alabama (Hoover H.S.) has now made 10 FGs in a row and is becoming somewhat of a local celebrity in Nebraska, especially after kicking 3 FGs in the snow to lead Nebraska to a 9-6 win over Michigan State.  He had scholarship offers from Nebraska, Vandy and Tulane and went with Nebraska.  (His long FG is 47 yards, and it appears he is good for FGs inside of 50 yards.)

Saban interview with Finebaum after the Iron Bowl:

— Saban on LaBryan Ray (backs up Isaiah Buggs): He’s done a good job for us all year. He’s athletic and has gotten stronger at the point of attack. We’re pleased with the way he’s developed.

— Saban: Keaton Anderson did a pretty good job when he went in for Jared Mayden (after Mayden got ejected against Auburn). Saban didn’t say though whether it will be Anderson or someone else as the sixth defensive back against Georgia during the first half with Mayden out...

I'm guessing Buggs is ok?

No way he could be, if you saw the video of it.  His knee ain't supposed to bend that direction.  I'm just hoping it'll heal without surgery.
But no word yet from the team docs.  He went back in against the Aubs, but wasn't full speed.

BTW, we wear white uniforms vs Georgia this year.
Colors rotate each year, and it's the SEC East'd turn to be home team.

Tidbits:

Tua Tagovailoa passed Jalen Hurts on Alabama's career passing TD list during the Iron Bowl. Then Hurts tied Tagovailoa with his 47th career TD pass (to Waddle in the 4th quarter). Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and John Parker Wilson are all tied for 2nd in Alabama history with 47 passing TDs.

Tua has the highest QBR rating ever at 212.54

Tua is also the ONLY QB in FBS history to have 36 TD's with 2 or fewer INT's

Barret Pickering kick a 46 yard FG for Nebraska.

Sooooo...., you're hinting that we screwed the pooch on this recruit??

I don't think Bama "screwed the pooch."  Kid still needed to develop.  But maybe he has an aunt, cousin, or other family member who is feeling sickly, and he needs a hardship waiver to transfer closer to home.   Wink
