LSU and Alabama gain ground on No. 1 Oklahoma in coaches poll

I bet a lot of us watch considerably more college football than the people who vote in the polls.  There is no justification for Auburn to be ranked for example.  And there is no way Boise should be in the top 5, I don't care if they win all of there games by 40 points.  You have to play somebody for it to count.

I believe we gained ground on LSU.  I think we were tied for 2nd with them last week.

Now we are 2 points behind them in 3rd.

I thought I was going nuts, but I guess I'm not after all....we're listed as #2 on ESPN's listing of the coaches poll:

The poll was wrong when it was firsted released this afternoon.

It had Alabama #2. LSU #3

It was released again and had Alabama#3. LSU #2.

They had Bama and LSU reversed.

The votes did not change.

I'm not sure that Florida, without Brantley, should be ranked at all.  With him healthy, maybe #10-12.

I have thought of that.  I was thinking that maybe you need a certain amount of e-cred to vote.  Or should we just let everybody vote (if they are registered)?

Sure you could.  There are plenty of teams in the Top 10 that don't belong, just get rid of them.

I'd suggest a top 15 maybe.  And yes, I like the idea of having to have a certain e-cred level.  Something small enough that any semi-regular contributor could still vote though (50?).

If you have to have a few e-creds to vote it would keep lurkers from coming on board just to screw up the poll.

Sounds good.  I am putting all of the schools in the database right now.  It looks like there are 39 people right now who have at least 50 e-cred.
