In a 11-4 vote, the City Council decided to remove the 65-foot-tall monument from its location in the heart of the city

Just one more step towards socialism. They are doing their best to remove history.

Maybe the little old ladies in the United Daughter of the Confederacy should sued for damages like they did at Vanderbilt. The initial cost of the monument plus interest on that amount since 1897 would amount to a tidy sum.

The most amazing thing is the Mississippi state flag that includes the Confederate battle flag. A few years ago, they asked if people wanted it to remain, and they voted overwhelmingly to keep it.
