The annual survey of college athletics revenue from USA Today is out and Alabama remains near the top.

With revenue of $177.5 million, Alabama is No. 5 in the list published Monday. Texas remains No. 1 with $219.4 million coming into the department followed by Texas A&M at $212.4 million.

The SEC had four of the top 10 revenue-producing programs with No. 6 Georgia and No. 10 Florida also making that list. Auburn was No. 12 at $147.6 million.

In all fairness to Auburn we did get our share of the Birmingham Bowl payout in 2015. They could have complained. While we got our fair share of their bowl money we were traveling all around the country playing in the playoffs and championship game spending money like a drunken sailor.

No kidding.  Now we have colorful LED lights around the stadium perimeter.  Woohoo!  

We've spent more money on frivolous toys than it takes to run the entire academic program.
