Here is the "Bison Attacks Chech" video, NALT.  It might play for you this way, but I couldn't embed it.

Hey, that's cool.  I especially liked how it stopped and turned it's head to look at you then you slunk behind that little pine tree like it would protect you.

Hey, it worked.  You may be able to tell from the video that I was on a bluff over the river, so I was stuck with no exit except behind the tree.  And after the bison stops and looks at me, he walks away and steps over a log.  THAT'S THE LOG I WAS SITTING ON!

Not sure why but...The first link wants to make me log in.  I could view the 2nd one though.  Those Moose can have a tendency to be very territorial.  I don't think I would have been comfortable with them staring me down like that...

I'm pretty used to reading the moose behavior.  They are much worse when they have babies or during mating season.  I'll be careful.

And then winter came back.  And so did my Bison Buddy.  After a walk in the woods, today he returned to town for some chomping on folks' flowers and stomping on their soft yards.

If this video plays for you, the snow should be obvious.  It's in the low 30s and snowing pretty hard now.  But tomorrow's forecast is for high in 50s, so no worries.

Here is Buddy earlier today.  Like the blue-gray tongue??

Before the snow started yesterday I took pics of a STELLER'S JAY.  I'd tossed out some cherries that were going bad, and the jays immediately gathered them.  Beautiful bird.

Thanks, Ricky.  You should enjoy this video (if it works for you).  Taken this morning; still snowing:

Naw, just happy little forest creatures.  They'll build a snow-moose later today!

Was a good day yesterday.  In addition to the moose I saw crossing the road, and the snow (off and on all day), I saw 6 bears (2 grizzlies far away, and 4 black bears).

Supposed to snow all day today and tomorrow; up to 4-6".  Glad I'm snug in my cabin instead of a tent!

Here are the best pics I could get of the Cinnamon Black Bear and the more typical Black Bear:

Those pics are great.  The videos mostly require me to log in which I can't do since I don't facebook...  Cry

Chech, the pics and videos are awesome! The attack bison video was spectacular. I showed it to Breddy and she was beside herself viewing it. E-cred!

Thanks, guys.  Ricky, I'll try to post still pics every day also, so you won't miss the story.

Today was excellent (Friday May 22).  By 9am I'd seen a grizzly, a black bear, and 5 wolves.  No pics of the wolves (I'll explain later), but got the bears.

Nitwit is looking the wrong way for traffic!

Grizzly along the Lamar River

I zoomed in.

Coyotes are cunning; not smart.

Right in the middle of the road!  HELLO?

If I'd known he had these magnificent horns (they're perfect), I'd have run him down for them!
